The Margaret Wedding Gown: A Custom Silk Chiffon Gown for a Utah Salt Flats Elopement
Margaret is a fairytale wedding dress.
It has a unique beaded lace floral top, sweetheart neckline with deep V plunge, open back and spaghetti straps. The skirt is created out of multiple silk chiffon panels which come out organically from underneath the lace. Margaret wedding dress is similar to Swan wedding dress. I used various textures of silk chiffon, and each drapes and flows differently. The silk panels are in blush, cream and dusty lavender hues. Each piece of silk is hand dyed with organic fruits, flowers and teas. The hues from natural dyes are just incredibly beautiful.
Below is the story of how the Margaret wedding dress came to life.
Bride Jenna, an artist and photographer from Texas, envisioned a one-of-a-kind custom gown for her Utah elopement. She was drawn to the flow and movement of silk chiffon and wanted a fitted silhouette below the waist, with soft, organic silk panels draping from delicate floral lace. The design featured an open back, spaghetti straps, and a sweetheart neckline with a subtle plunge.
Jenna loved artsy details, including pearl-embroidered fringe, romantic bell sleeves, and a flowing silk cape. She traveled all the way from Texas to Boise for her bridal fitting. It was a joy to continue creating the dress together in person. The final result—captured in the images below—reflects both her artistic vision and the craftsmanship behind the gown.
I hope the Margaret dress, and the journey of creating it, sparks inspiration for you as well. Daci
